Is medical cover required for every event in Greece?

There is no single requirement that can be applied to every event. What applies may depend on the event type, venue, attendance, activity risk, permit or licensing conditions, and the expectations of the venue or insurer. Organisers—including individuals arranging private events—should confirm any requirements with the venue, insurer, relevant licensing or public authority and, where appropriate, a legal adviser. We can plan medical cover for sports and motorsport events, concerts, festivals, corporate gatherings, private events, public ceremonies, and other organised gatherings. The appropriate provision is assessed from the event brief rather than assumed from the event category alone.

How far in advance should I enquire?

Accepted Answer

Contact us as early as possible. A smaller, straightforward event may sometimes be arranged with a few days’ notice, subject to availability. For a large, multi-site, or higher-risk event—or where a written plan must be reviewed by another party—allowing at least two to three weeks gives more time for assessment, planning, and staffing confirmation.

What can the medical plan and on-site deployment include?

Depending on the agreed scope, the plan may cover staffing, response equipment, communications, treatment areas, access and transfer routes, escalation arrangements, and ambulance standby. We adapt the plan to information requested by the organiser, venue, insurer, or relevant authority; the organiser remains responsible for confirming that it is accepted by any party requiring it.

What happens if there is a serious incident during the event?

The medical team follows the agreed response plan, assesses and treats the patient within its clinical scope, and escalates to EKAB, 112, agreed ambulance transport, or a receiving facility where necessary. Roles, communications, access, and transfer routes are planned in advance so the organiser and medical team have a clear pathway to follow.

Pricing depends on attendance, activity and risk profile, venue and access, event duration, staffing, equipment, ambulance or treatment-area requirements, and the planning work required. We issue a quotation once the event brief and proposed scope have been reviewed.
